As the rain keeps falling and the temperatures drop everyone finds themselves staying inside more and more. So to beat the cold I found two simple, warming and very tasty recipes. Albert Solari from Ione, Calif. shared a recipe that is well known to most people, Beer Bread. It’s tasty to eat and easy to make, plus who doesn’t have beer around. Stay warm and have a Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

Recipes by Erica Krantz I've always loved to cook! Trying different meals, either from magazine clippings or friend’s family recipes, my motto is "I'll always cook it once, if you don't like it, I'm sure my dogs will!" My mother taught me the basics of cooking, the rest I've picked up from watching a million cooking shows and reading tons of cookbooks. But what I love the most is seeing the look on my friends' faces when I hand them their plate and they take that first bite! |

Kaley's Homemade Chili
To kick off the new year, I have a new recipe! Kaley Terras from Corning, Calif., shared with me a spicy and tasty meal. A homemade pot of chili is just what we all need during these cold nights or after coming in from those long practices. It’s not only easy and cheap to make, it’s darn good to eat as well! Also, like she said, chili is easy – add nachos, bacon bits or anything – you can get creative with it! Give it a try, let your creative juices flow and make something you can call your own. Happy new year, everyone!
Cowboy Cookie Mix
’Tis the season to bake, cook, and, well...eat! I know this is my favorite part of the year, with friends and family gathering together, and that can only mean one thing, lots of food! While skimming through a magazine, I came across a very different recipe, something I have never heard of before, Cowboy Cookie Mix In A Jar. It’s not only easy and simple but it’s something worth wrapping up and putting under the tree this year to share. So instead of shopping around for a gift, try something with a more personal touch. I bet even Santa would like these cookies waiting for him by the fireplace! Happy holidays, everybody!
Pizza Pasta Casserole
Ever tire of coming in late after a long day of practice, drained, not wanting to run and get something or have to slave over the stove? Well, team ropers, I have found the answer! Linda Welch from Emmett, Idaho, has made this dish and has said it’s not only easy but very tasty as well! Freeze it up to 3 months or make it before a long day and stick it in the fridge. Either way it will leave a great taste in your mouth and have you wanting more.
Mama’s Baked Beans
This month I didn’t have to look too far for a great recipe, I just asked the best cook I know. It comes from the woman who taught me what I know — my mom, Lynnette Krantz from Lodi, Calif. I remember her making this either for BBQ’s in the summer, or cold rainy days in the winter. So far it has a clean record, everyone goes back for seconds, sometimes even thirds and fourths! This is a must try and is one of my all time favorite recipes. I know you all will love it as much as I do!
