WTRA Names 2011 Champions

Thank you Charlie and Sandy Inderbitzen of Basso’s Arena in Livermore, Caif. for hosting another awesome WTRA Finals on Saturday, August 13! The facility and staff was phenomenal from start to finish. Great arena, perfect weather, good friends, awesome food and fabulous prizes!
We had a great turnout of about 350 teams for the day! Lots of WTRA members were present. Thank you to our volunteer flagger, Dave Mahoney. Also thank you to the members who are always willing to do whatever it takes to make this association great for everybody.
Although Barbara Kenney won the A League, she was the reserve buckle winner. Barbara won the A League last year, and a WTRA rule reads that “A member cannot win a saddle in the same category for two consecutive years.” Diane Schieltz won the saddle for 2011.
Sharon Schieltz won two leagues this year, the C League and the Heeling, but the rulebook reads “A member cannot win more than one saddle in the same year.” Sharon picked the heeling saddle, and that meant that Kathy Roberts got the C League saddle and Sharon received the C League Reserve buckle.
Saddle and buckle winners for the 2011 WTRA season are: A League, Diane Schieltz - saddle and Barbara Kenney - buckle. B League, Brittany Dias - saddle and Sherri Burns - buckle. C League, Kathy Roberts - saddle and Sharon Scheiltz - buckle. Heeling, Sharon Scheiltz - saddle and Wendy Frazier - buckle. Rookie, Tonia Forsberg - saddle and Mackenzie Vanderbur - buckle.
