Special To Ropers Sports News

TEHACHAPI, CALIF. – It is an honor for me to be asked to participate in the Eatons’ production of the Wounded Heroes roping each year! They are great people with great big hearts and create this wonderful event year after year for a great cause – the Wounded Heroes. The day was perfect for roping Aug. 20, as I’m sure all 137 ropers will attest to. The format of the pots changed a little this year with us starting the day with a #7 Handicap, followed by the Open and a #5.5. The cattle were just right and the chute help was right on, never missing a nod or losing a rope. There was great food, great friends, great roping, and a great dummy roping for the kids.

The Eatons would like to thank the people and friends who made this day possible. Darin and Karen Bowe, Bowe Ranch; Ryan and Tammy White, Best Ever Pads; Jerry Johnson,  Ashmore Motors, Carl Daniel, Lee Legasey, Tractor Supply, and Cactus Saddlery. A special thank you to Sam Habib for his generous donation and cattle.
