CHSRA District 3
California High School Rodeo Districts 1, 2, 3 and 5 joined up in February for our annual Inter District Rodeo. With over 250 entries, District 3 took Red Bluff, Calif., by storm, claiming the girls All Around saddle and Boys Reserve All Around. In addition, there were many other first place winners.
Did I mention storm? Not only did we dominate, we did so while a much-needed storm was dumping buckets of rain in Red Bluff. Here are some highlights of District 3 winners:
Our own Payton Schoeppach took home the girls All Around saddle. Zach Harrison, first place Bull Riding; Jonathan Siller, first in Bareback Riding; Jake Franceschi, first in Steer Wrestling and Boys Cutting; Molly Sparrowk, first in Girls Cutting; and Hunter Morgan, first in Pole Bending. District 3 really dominated this rodeo.
District 1 also hosted the annual Special Rodeo for individuals with special needs. During the break on Saturday, volunteers gathered in the indoor arena to help run the events. Stick horse barrel racing is usually the favorite. We want to thank District 1 for hosting this memorable event; it truly blesses the participants and volunteers and is something we look forward to every year.
Challenge of Champions is the next big rodeo for CHSRA. The top three in each event in all of our nine districts will be competing March 19-20 in Plymouth at the Amador County Fairgrounds. Best of luck to all... be safe and stay strong.
