SALINAS, CALIF. – James Joseph Martins passed away peacefully on November 19, 2019. He was born to Frank and Marie (Ruda) Martins on June 9, 1931. He graduated from Salinas High School in 1949 where he met the love of his life, Sally Wilson. After eloping on July 9, 1949, on his father’s fishing boat, they honeymooned in close quarters as they enjoyed their journey to Mexico.


RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – Louis Robert Tavaglione was born April 23, 1929 in Riverside to parents, Joseph and Mary Tavaglione. He was the 10th child in a family of 11 children and the first to be born in Riverside. He would stay a Riverside resident for life. He passed away at Riverside Community Hospital on Nov. 11, 2019 after a brief illness.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. – After a lifetime of love, generosity, courage, and humor, Bob Tuley rode into the sunset on Oct. 11, 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona.

OAKDALE, CAL. – Russ Cardoza, 67, died Sept. 5, 2019. He was born to George and Beatrice Cardoza on February 13, 1952, the youngest of five children. He was raised on his family ranch in Livermore, where he lived for the next 50 years, until moving to the Oakdale area in 2001.

   COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The rodeo and sports world lost a legend and pioneer in Dr. J. Pat Evans.
Evans, one of the founders of Justin Sportsmedicine Program, who was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2004, passed away July 22. He was 88. Evans is survived by sons, Kirk and Mike.
