PASO ROBLES, CALIF.  – Rick Machado’s “The Main Event Horse Auction” held at the Paso Robles Event Center on November 7 did not disappoint with a record breaking sale.

This sale has become one of the most reliable sources to find good, honest ranch and rope horses from an incredible and diverse group of consignors from all over the western United States. With the additional opportunity to purchase well bred weanlings and yearlings from Rick Machado’s own breeding program you have a sale that gives the buyer a select choice of horses to fit their own programs.

The high selling horse this year was Hip #17.  This young, versatile gelding was consigned by Tyler and Jennifer Holzum from Oakdale, Calif., and sold to Philip Martin for $26,000.  The top 10 horses averaged $18,600, the Top 15 average was $16,033, all geldings averaged $10,973 and the mares sold averaged $7,972.  The weanlings and yearlings sold from Rick Machado’s own program averaged $3,395 and $3,750 respectively. Stock dogs sold averaged $3,000.

Rick Machado would like to thank everyone who contributed to the great success of this sale and looks forward to the next sale which will be held in the Spring of 2017.
