NAPA, CALIF. – Claudia Casselberry passed away on May 13, 2020 from injuries sustained due to a horse related accident at her home on April 14.
Claudia was born in Vallejo, Calif. Her maiden name was Claudia Batchelor. She married Dr. Tom Casselberry, DVM after 16 years of dating. Dr. Tom told me they had finally decided to get married and spent the last 25 years together as husband and wife.
Claudia was well known in the equestrian world, showing horses and being involved in many cow horse associations the past several years. She had many accomplishments over the years in her competition.
She assisted her husband for many years as bookkeeper and assistant in his veterinary practice in the Napa area. They were often seen together at many competitions where Tom was her biggest fan.
Tom told me that he was reminded by a niece about the day of Claudia’s passing as being a special day because it was National Apple Pie Day and Claudia was well-known for baking some of the best apple pies.
Rest in peace, Claudia. My sincere condolences to the friends and family of this fine horsewoman.
