SIERRAVILLE, CALIF. – We made it through the 16th annual Steve Maddalena Memorial Roping August 5-6 with a total of 641 teams on the weekend. The highlight this year was 4-year-old Stevie Parsons kicking off each day of roping with her amazing acapella version of the National Anthem (Stevie is Steve’s granddaughter).
  Kaula’ili Gouveia and Bill Finks were this year’s winners of the Steve Maddalena Memorial buckles with a time of 35.29 on 4 with their handicap, for $421 per man and buckles.
Conner Finks and Chase Goss were the winners of the #8 Pick 1/Draw 2 Elliott Dow Memorial on Sunday with a time of 20.26 on 3 with their handicap for $755 per man and buckles donated by Megan Hill.
  This year’s high money header was Weston Coffman, with total winnings of $1,649. Chase Goss was awarded high money heeler with total winnings of $1,443 for the weekend. Each won beautiful rope bags made by Denise VonTour.
